The Criminal Justice Forum

We had an incredible evening tonight! The Forum was well attended, good questions were asked, good food was eaten, and a fun time was had by all.

District Attorney Seth Williams’ opening remarks highlighted his vision for an effective District Attorney’s office and his efforts to implement community-wide partnerships to address the challenges facing Philadelphia. 

This forum was an opportunity to discuss the cycle of violence in Philadelphia and its impact on the community. Touching on topics like poverty, failing schools, and broken communities, the panel addressed the efforts of the criminal justice community to change the trajectory of our city’s most disadvantaged youth.

Princeton Global NetNight was a success!

Princeton Global NetNight this evening was a success! Sandy Mannix (P’12), a Legal Recruiter and Resume Consultant, gave a brief talk on resume and networking best-practices and then opened up the floor for Q&A as well as personalized resume assistance. It was a great evening!

A little bit about Sandy: She has more than 35 years of experience in professional education, recruitment, retention and communications! Before joining Abelson Legal Search, she served as the Director of Admission and Financial Aid at the Villanova University School of Law for 13 years and as the Vice President of Student Affairs at the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine. She also has been an administrator at the University of Pennsylvania and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and worked as a professional consultant for several local, statewide and national political campaigns.

Princeton Women's Network on Beauty, Health and Wellness

On Feb. 22nd 2012 a group of twenty or so Princeton women gathered in a beautiful home on the Main Line, in Pa, to learn about beauty, health and wellness.  After dinner and networking we had presentations from the following speakers,

Update from the PCOP Community Service Committee:

On January 29^th a group of Princeton Alumni and Friends spent a few hours volunteering at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House (PRMH), which is a home-away-from-home for families and their seriously ill children who are being treated at area hospitals.  Our Princeton group prepared and served “Breakfast for Dinner” to the PRMH families as they returned home from long days at the hospital.  After a fun afternoon of making pancakes, scrambling eggs and frying bacon, everyone agreed that the Club should plan to prepare another meal soon.  Thanks to all who participated in and donated to our day at the PRMH and stay tuned for the next volunteer date!

Did you miss the Princeton vs. Penn Men's basketball game at the Palestra last week?!  Well, the Princeton Tigers gave a great effort, and almost beat the Quakers, but not quite.  Still, the Princeton Club, as well as some local Princeton alum at Wharton, came out and gave great support to the team- in fact our 100 tickets were sold out!  Join us for more sports events in the future.
